How we handle your details

The short version. You give us your details so roofers can quote for your job. We pass them to up to three roofing companies in our network, and nobody else. We don't sell your data or use it for marketing. Email us and we'll delete it.

Who we are

The London Roofer (thelondonroofer.com) is a free quote-matching service for homeowners in Greater London. We are not a roofing contractor. We introduce you to independent roofing companies who carry out and guarantee the work themselves. For anything about this policy, email info@thelondonroofer.com.

What we collect

When you send a quote request we collect:

Your name, mobile number and email address
Your postcode and the borough page you used
The type of work, how urgent it is, and any notes you add
The time of the request and the page it came from

We don't ask for your full address; the roofer will confirm that with you directly.

Why we collect it

To match your job with roofers who cover your postcode and do that type of work, to send you a confirmation email, and to follow up if a roofer reports they couldn't reach you. The legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form, and our legitimate interest in running the service.

Who we share it with

Your name, phone, email, postcode and job details go to up to three roofing companies in our network so they can contact you about the work. Each roofer is required to use your details only to quote for the job you described. We do not share your details with anyone else, and we never sell them.

We store your details in Google Workspace (Google Sheets and Gmail). Google acts as our processor under its standard terms.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests for 12 months so we can deal with any follow-up or complaint, then delete them. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will, unless we need to keep a record to handle a dispute.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email info@thelondonroofer.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies needed to run it and basic, anonymised analytics to see which pages people use. We don't use advertising cookies or track you across other sites.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Anything significant, we'll say so on the homepage.
